Elizabeth McMillan
Elizabeth McMillan, a native New Orleanian, attended the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts from 1994-1998. Her luminous compositions have focused mainly on still life, landscape and portrait painting in oil. Her technique and glazing resemble the old masters with classic draftsmanship. Problems of light and shadow are of particular interest; and her mastery of chiaroscuro makes her paintings glow with jewel-like intensity. Her touch is deft and sense of color elegant. Her work is widely collected. She works at New Orleans Center for Creative Arts in development, which allows little time for her art.
