Carol Hallock
Carol Hallock lives on a home on stilts in Bayou Lacombe, Louisiana. She is an oil painting artist and often paints the surrounding bayou and marsh from her ‘kayak’. Now with a bigger new pontoon boat, her canvases done on site can be larger. “Geraldine” the egret is a favorite subject. Born and raised in Baton Rouge and a graduate of Louisiana State University, she has won many awards with her fine art. She is acclaimed for her use of expression and innovative color in a painterly style which might be termed “ loose realism”. Her brushstroke and heavy impasto add texture and movement to her compositions. Hallock does commissioned and studio work as well as finding time to teach in the local art community.
